Big Kids Helping Little Kids, the Water Buffalo Club
is a charitable organization dedicated to providing time and financial
support to smaller children’s charities while hosting events that foster well-being
for underserved children in the Los Angeles community.

The WBC was born
in 1989 when a bunch of guys got together and decided to create a group that was
fun, social, and supportive of needy kids and organizations that often fell "under
the radar screen" of traditional giving. We chose the name Water Buffalo Club
as something that didn't sound too serious and a name that people would remember.
And no, we're not part of the Flintstones and we don't wear hats with horns.
Since that time
in 1989, we have had over 275 different members (75 per year) and supported 180
different organizations to the tune of $3,000,000. Each year the WBC members
select one or more organizations to support with a "silver bullet" or item(s) that
will last beyond our giving. This could be a bus, a van, computers, copiers,
books, school and art supplies, musical instruments, or a food trailer, to name
a few. These organizations fill out the WBC grant application form, then are
vetted by our Charity Selection Committee, and if selected, present in front of
the WBC membership.
In addition to
our grants, the WBC is committed to taking kids out of their everyday environment
for a "fabulous field trip". Whether it's to the Santa Monica Pier, a Holiday
Movie Screening, or Dodger Stadium, we recognize the importance of connecting with
these wonderful youngsters in a meaningful way while reminding them that there are
people who really care.
...And that's what
the WBC strives to accomplish 365 days a year!
The Water Buffalo
Club is a 501(c)(3) Organization.
